Small Groups

Northside CC is not just a church with small groups, but we are a church of small groups. Small groups are a part of who we are as a church, it’s in our DNA. A saying we go by is, “As we grow larger, we have to grow smaller.” This only happens through small groups.

As a church we look at the early church found in the book of Acts as our guide of how we do church and live life together.

I like acronyms and one I came up with for our small group vision is:

A.C.T.S:
Authentic – Community – Through – Small Groups

Acts 2:42 is our guide for our small groups vision. It says,"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Our 4 Pillars for our small groups are: 1) Community – A group of people sharing life together (Acts 2:42-47) 2) Prayer – Our life line. Connecting people to God and God to people through the act of prayer (Romans 12:12) 3) Accountability – Growing stronger through real connections (Proverbs 27:17) 4) Study of the Bible – Where truth meets life (James 1:22-25)

Our small groups meet at various times and places throughout the week and during both service times on Sunday mornings (9:00 and 10:30 AM). They vary in sizes from 3-4 to 6-12 people.

If you would like to get involved in a small group, please contact our Involvement Minister, Justin Danielson.

For the Children and the Tension
By Paul S. Williams Back in February, Cathy and I led a marriage retreat for Manhattan’s Forefront Christian Church. Forty couples joined us at a Long Island retreat center. The demographic was narrow—thirtysomething professionals. Almost all live in small apartments in New York City. They have good incomes and travel the world. Yet their marriage [...]
